MRV of Methane: Coal Mines Sector
GMI partnered with the UNECE Group of Experts on Coal Mine Methane and Just Transition to develop the Best Practice Guidance for Effective Management of Coal Mine Methane at National Level: Monitoring, Reporting, Verification and Mitigation. This resource outlines strategies for designing national systems to quantify and report methane emissions from coal mines. National MRV programs have the potential to not only help countries better understand their coal mining emissions, but also to identify opportunities for mitigation.
